Our Class Playing Tag

Pat has been teaching Mana Tahi and some of the Ferns the basic skills for rugby league.
In the first week of rugby league Pat was teaching the
classes about how to pass the ball and how to work as a team. He told some people not to think about themselves and they should not hog the ball and instead they have to pass the ball around. You have to look to where to where are pass the ball so that you can it to your team mate. Pat has been teaching the classes a new game called ‘Tag’. Tag is a game that needs speed and agility. We have had a great time with Pat and we hope he comes back next term.

Throughout our inquiry, we have been learning about food and nutrition. These
slow-mations have been fun to make but more importantly they show our understanding of the effects of food on our bodies.

Our Talking Heads

On art da,y Room 20 made some artwork called Talking Heads.The theme was pasifika and the artist was Fatu Feu'u.We used pastels.We used patterns, blending and clean lines.
We did this art piece so three art pieces would go to the convention centre to be admired.

Slow mation

We have been creating a type of animation called 'Slowmation'. It was our first time, so we kept it short and simple. We are glad we did it because now we know what we need to improve. Look out for our next slowmation creations!

In room 20 we have been inquiring about 'Am I what I eat?' Here are some photos that we took. The class has been split up into qroups and our job is to find out about a food group. We are learning about what food does to our bodies and what is in the food that we eat. By Samantha

EL Rancho Interviews

Some people from Room 20 went on camp at El Rancho and they have been telling people how cool camp was. So Room 20 decided to make an interview with three people that went on camp. The children that were chosen were asked heaps of different questions and some of them were pretty hard but they managed to answer them.

Wacky character hair dress up day

At Roslyn School we are fundraising money for the Wespac chopper.For example we are having a wacky hair day.The student council are holding stalls such as colour spray, gel and pipe cleaners.If we raise enough money, we get a special guest to come to our school which is Richie McCaw.

At Graham Braddock,we drew a boy on a skateboard which is a sport figure.The school went into the hall and Graham told us the steps for how to do the drawing and soon enough it was a masterpiece!!!

Our Funky Faces

Are we good or what?
In Room 20 for our art we have been creating 3D artwork.
We have made them so that we can tick off one of our pride challenges and to make the hallways more attractive and more colourful.
We did it with the basics, outline it with pencil,roll up tubes of newspaper to make our nose, eyes and mouth,using strips to paper mache it and to paint it.

The vollyball semi finals.

A group of children went to the volly ball semi finals and watched lots of teams from around New Zealand play. I enjoyed watching the boys because they were really good and one of the boys broke his leg. The girls were pretty good and one of them girls hit the volly ball to me. I learnt lot of stuff like serving the ball properly and what a spike is. By Shon.
